Del Oro JV wins five weight classes at SFL Tournament

The Del Oro JV Team finished the season with five champions, two runner ups, and four third placers at the SFL Tournament. Gage Garrett battled through an especially deep bracket at 140 lbs, going 5-0 on the day to take first. In the same bracket Levi Ruhkala lost early on to eventual runner up Gabriel Olveda (Folsom HS) but won four matches in a row to make it to the third place match against teammate Gavin Detrick. Detrick had lost to Kayl Barragan (Folsom HS) in the first round of the tournament but won three matches in consolation to set up a rematch. This time Detrick pinned Barragan to advance to the third place match. Ruhkala ultimately defeated Detrick to take third place and complete a long day of competition for all wrestlers.
