It was the first of a Sierra Foothill League doubleheader, with the Bulldogs winning game two 8-0.
Rowland was efficient in his command, surrendering just three hits to the Bulldogs and getting the job done in 62 pitches, just under nine per inning. Rowland didn’t walk any batters.
Rowland induced nine ground balls, three of which the defense turned for double plays. Del Oro also recorded six flyouts or lineouts, and Rowland struck out three.
Seven players recorded a hit for the Golden Eagles, and Mason Belding, Ben Brown, Sam Brown and Jayden Santiago each drove in runs.
Rowland is 2-0 with a 1.84 ERA in five appearances this season and has 19 strikeouts and four walks in 19 innings.
