Del Oro Boys Varsity Wrestling repeated as Sac Joaquin Section D2 Team Duals Champions with a 53-23 win over Ponderosa HS yesterday. The team defeated its first two opponents, Stagg HS and St. Mary’s HS, by a combined score of 155-9 to move into the finals match against Ponderosa HS. Ponderosa HS, the D2 runner up in 2024 and 2025, had upset #2 seed Elk Grove HS in the semis to advance to the finals. In the championship match Del Oro quickly set the tone by winning nine of the first ten matches by bonus points and ultimately winning 53-23. This marks the first time in program history the team has repeated as a D2 Team Duals Champion.
Next up for the team is the SFL Championship at Whitney HS on Friday. Top 6 in Varsity will move on to Divisionals while the league meet concludes the JV season.
