Del Oro’s 209 Varsity Squad competed at the 49th Annual James Riddle Tournament in Oakdale, taking 3rd place as a team. The team finished behind 2nd place host team Oakdale and ahead of 4th place Whitney HS. The team traveled light, bringing only ten athletes, but was able to place nine of them, including eight in the top four and four individual champions. In the finals matches three Del Oro wrestlers won by bonus points: Christian Perez (126 lbs) WBTF 19-4, Cooper Sheesley (150 lbs) WBF, and Chase Young (157 lbs) WBMD 10-1.
Next on the schedule is a home SFL match against Rocklin on Tuesday and the Zinkin Classic (Buchanan HS) on Friday and Saturday
