Del Oro finished the season with a 13th place finish and one medalist at the California State Meet. Del Oro had the second highest finish out of Sac Joaquin Section teams, trailing 9th place Pitman HS by 30 points. Siraj Sidhu was the lone medalist this year, placing 4th at a very competitive 126 lbs bracket. Sidhu entered the tournament as the #7 seed in a weight with eight returning state medalists. He lost 5-2 in the quarterfinals to #2 seed Antonio Rodriguez (Los Gatos HS) but bounced back with a pin over #13 Zach Klarcyk (Porterville HS) to guarantee a medal. He defeated #8 Thunder Lewis 5-3 (Clovis HS) in the consolation quarterfinals to set up a rematch against #5 Slater Hicks (Valencia HS) in conso semis. Hicks had defeated Sidhu 9-3 in the finals of the Temecula Valley Tournament in January. This time, despite spotting Hicks a takedown and two cautions in the first twelve seconds of the match, Sidhu came out on top with an 11-7 win to move on to the third place match. Sidhu finished 4th with a 19-3 loss to #1 Ronnie Ramirez (Walnut HS). This finish marks the third year Sidhu has placed at the state meet and the second time he has finished higher than his seed.
