Del Oro Boys Wrestling took 3rd place at the Sac Joaquin Section Masters Tournament with eight medalists and seven state qualifiers. Christian Perez (122 lbs) and Siraj Sidhu (128 lbs) rolled through the tournament with a combined six pins, one tech fall, and one major decision to the finals. In the final match Perez defeated returning Masters Champion Eli Almarinez (Vacaville HS) 4-0 to win his first Masters Championship and second trip to CIF State. At 128 lbs Siraj Sidhu took a medical forfeit from Kai Yi-Berg (Folsom HS) to win his second Masters Championship and third trip to CIF State. Declan Leonard (108 lbs), Kam Rush (134 lbs), and Evan Hilmen (177 lbs) also made it to the semifinals; despite losing their semi finals matches they won in the consi semis to advance to CIF State Tournament. Nate Mitchell (115 lbs) and Chase Young (152 lbs) lost in the quarter finals but wrestled back through consolations to place fourth and fifth, respectively.
