Amir Farooq
Coach Amir is entering his fifth year coaching basketball at Del Oro High School and his first as the Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach. Over his previous four seasons, he led the Freshman and JV girls programs, building a foundation of skill development, teamwork, and competitiveness that has carried through to the varsity level.
With a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the court, Coach Amir’s philosophy emphasizes hard work, accountability, and a genuine love for the game. He is committed to honoring the tradition of Del Oro basketball while continuing to grow the program for future generations.
Before joining Del Oro, Coach Amir coached basketball at Franklin Elementary, the De’Aaron Fox Camp, and with various AAU programs. He was drawn to coaching girls’ basketball because he believes in inspiring young female athletes to reach their full potential, both as players and individuals.
In his free time, Coach Amir enjoys studying NCAA Women’s Basketball and WNBA games, appreciating the skill, discipline, and competitive spirit at the highest levels of the sport. He is excited to lead the Golden Eagles into a new era of success.
