Mary Jane Masys
Coach MJ Masys grew up in Quincy, CA where she attended and graduated from Quincy High School. She was a multi-sport athlete and grew up playing soccer, basketball and tennis.
After high school, Masys attended and played basketball on a full ride scholarship at The University of San Francisco. During her Division I college playing career, she received many accolades including selection twice to the First Team All West Coast Conference and ranking as the school’s number two all-time leading female rebounder.
Coach Masys is entering her 8th year coaching basketball and in addition to coaching high school basketball, she also coaches for JBS, which is one of the largest girls AAU club basketball programs in Sacramento.
One of Coach Masys’ main goals is to empower female competitors on the court in order to set them up for success both in athletics and in life. The skills they learn on the court will strengthen their abilities and perseverance in dealing with future challenges.
She is entering her 20th year in teaching and previously worked at Twelve Bridges Middle School in Lincoln, CA for the last 19 years teaching English Language Arts. When she’s not in the gym coaching or at school teaching, Coach Masys can be found spending time with her three daughters who will be future Eagles.
